Marina Mahathir

Marina binti Mahathir is the eldest daughter of the 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Mahathir Mohammad. She has been an active advocate for HIV/AIDS for 16 years, leading the Malaysian AIDS Council for 12 years. She is well known as a leader in many non-governmental organizations such as the Malaysian AIDS Foundation and is currently an active socio-political blogger. Also a newspaper columnist, blogger and TV producer, she promotes the rights of women especially Muslim women as a member of the Musawah, a global movement for equality and justice in the Muslim family and of the Women's Islamic Initiative on Spirituality and Equality (WISE). Back in 2008, she was appointed to be part of the International Advisory Board of the Asian University for Women and the AIDS2031.

Steve McCoy


Steve McCoy is founder and principal of Counterpoint, a boutique consultancy firm based in Kuala Lumpur which provides support services on sustainability for the corporate, Government and non-profit sectors. Counterpoint’s work rests on the simple understanding that the challenges that confront the world today offer vast opportunities to secure a better future, and the conviction that maintaining the status quo is no longer a viable option. Steve’s passion lies in creating ‘aha’ experiences for business leaders about how to capture value streams and implement visionary strategies consistent with their highest aspirations. Academically, Steve studied medicine, music and theology at London and Cambridge. Prior to this, Steve was the CEO of the Force of Nature Aid Foundation working in the long-term recovery of communities affected by natural disasters.
