HEAR US OUT 6: World Issues Conference

WHAT IS HEAR US OUT 6 (HUO6)?

Hear Us Out 6 (HUO6) is a conference by the World Issues class of the Canadian Pre-University (CPU) programme in Taylor's College, Subang Jaya, Malaysia talking about issues not only important for Malaysia but the world as a whole.

The aim of this conference is to educate the public about important issues such as sexuality rights, rights of the child, refugees, deforestation, ocean health, poor sanitation and water, cultural loss and exploitation of the poor, just to name a few. Various NGOs and prominent speakers are also invited to conduct talks and workshops for the participants with their own specific issues that they feel strongly about.

WHAT MAKES HUO6 UNIQUE?

HUO6 is a student-run conference under the supervision of the World Issues class teacher, Mr. Colin Shafer which means, students of the subject are responsible fully in promoting and searching for funds for the conference, handling participants as well as inviting various NGOs and speakers to speak for the conference.

LEARN AND GROW.

HUO6 talks about issues/topics that are rarely talked about in Malaysia but is very much important to us. The choices we make today will impact our future, so we do hope that through HUO6, participants are able to reflect and think about how they as youths or the society can make a change in the world. We want to let everyone know how the Earth and its people are suffering and that it is up to us to remedy the mistakes made by our past and hopefully create a better future.
